Good News for Customers in the USA

Some good news! I'm now able to accept orders from the USA again.

This is such a relief. Over the years collectors of my work in the USA have been incredibly loyal and supportive. it has been my absolute pleasure to send my art work across the ocean, to patrons in the States - I really am so thankful to everyone who has bought my work. So you'll understand what a sense of frustration discontinuing sales has caused, especially when I've had little control over the situation.

You may know about Trump's executive order which removed the duty-free threshold, previously set at $800 for goods entering the States.

The introduction of new tariffs has created a surge of panic amongst small business owners, who have already lost revenue from sales to the EU and Northern Ireland, due to the introduction of new regulations post Brexit.

As artists who sell overseas on a very small scale we have limited time and resources to figure out what complicated new rules mean, how they affect our specific circumstances and how to implement any changes - because our skills are primarily making art. Which is why it's been easier for a lot of small businesses, including my own to simply stop sending orders internationally.

With all that in mind I've been impressed how quickly the Royal Mail has developed a new duties paid service (PDDP or Post Delivered Duties Paid). Duties are paid by the seller in the UK before orders are sent. Thankfully, fine art is tariff exempt. The only extra is a 50p handling charge added by Royal Mail to every order. I'm assured that this service negotiated by the Royal Mail will help orders travel through the US customs with the greatest of ease.
